I won a $400 gift certificate at onecall.com and I am plotting on buying a digital camera. I would like one that has excellent zoom capacity to get wildlife shots of birds and larger animals and also excellent landscape shots. I am wondering how much optical zoom I need and what type of belt lenses are excellent for scenery shots. Thanks a lot.

I am looking to buy a digital slr camera. the problem is i want to keep the expenditure honestly low (prefer under 800) but want a excellent brand and a excellent zoom. i want to use it primarily for sports photography, including baseball games everywhere i will be sitting in the stands doubtless about 50 ft. from the dugout (maybe 100 feet from home plate) and i want to get excellent pictures of batters and baserunners. it will also be used a lot at hockey games so i would like a zoom that may possibly cover a pretty excellent distance and get me close to the action. is this possible with that kind of budget? i am willing ot spend more only if that budget won’t get my anything worthwhile. thanks for your help
I see cameras with high MP, but only 3x zoom, then I see them with low MP and high zoom. I want something that takes excellent pictures, but also takes clear pictures when I zoom in too. What is a excellent balance that doesn’t cost a ton of money??
I’ve recently just taken an interest in photography and want to pursue it as a leisure activity. I’m wondering what’s a excellent starting Digital SLR camera? I know a friend whose into photography but his camera is like 1200$, and that’s lacking adding all his lenses and accessories…

I’m thinking about buying a digital video camera. I want to make some films. Maybe about an hour in length each, possibly a small over. Anyway, I don’t want to produce crappy movies that people can’t see or know, so what’s a excellent brand of camera to get? If possible (I know it’s a small low) I’d like to keep the cost under $300. I’d be willing to go over a bit. I don’t need a 5 star camera, but I want it to look really excellent and polished. I appreciate it.
Hi, I need to get a new camera and need to keep it as cheap as possible. I know some of you may say “yuck”, but I had a Kodak Easyshare (can’t remember which #). It only cost like $97 and I really liked it in all-purpose. It really took nice pics, but eventually, the door everywhere the batteries go busted right in half and fell off. Kinda cheap junk!
Anyhow, I need to know what to look for and maybe some personal experience with specific cameras. I need it to be as cheap as possible (FOR SURE under $200, preferably less!) I just need something to take nice snapshots, as I don’t print out a lot of them and if I do, I rarely make them extra huge, so the quality of larger prints is not a major issue.
Also, I don’t have a lot of time until I need it, so online resources may be fascinating, but I would prefer if anyone may possibly tell me everywhere to GO get one, so I don’t have to wait for it to come in the mail.
I want to take my 1 year ancient portrait photos myself. I notice on HGTV there is a soft lens belt you can ad to the camera….I want all the quality of a professional lacking the high cost….Can someone tell me a digital camera or regular camera that I can buy that will not cost me an arm and leg?
It may be right lighting I am interested in… I noticed in studio/proffessional portraits they have nearly a soft and misty looking out-come, if misty is a excellent word for it. (?) Not sure?
